i just bought four adolesent angle fish for my new ten gallon tank. The pH is 7.5, and the ammonia is 0. The tail on one of my fish fell off but he seems to be doing alright. What would cause that, will he be alright and will it grow back?

what are your nitrite and nitrate readings? they could be nipping eachother as a 10 gal is a bit small for the 4 of them....prestine water changes with some stress coat should help heal them up..if you can find some fish protector and vita chem, that helps alot also

i'm with shawnie, in the long run even one angel probably won't be too comfortable in a 10 gallon because it won't be tall enough for them and they'll be a bit cramped. definitely sounds like you have some aggression issues going on with them, my recommendation if it's possible for you is to look into getting a 29 gallon tank or at least a 20H (20 gallon high, smaller footprint but taller for the angels).

were you planning on keeping all four or are you trying to get a pair from them?
