| Angels and How many? I'm going to be getting a 65 - 70 gallon tank, I beleive it's 5 feet long. I was thinking about having an all angel tank, it is going to be planted, have a sump pump and all that fun stuff, but I wanna know how many I can have (how many full grown adults) and can i keep them with ghost shrimp and some bottom feeders? (cory cats) |

| I would suggest around 6 or 8. Even though I had experience with angels I got way to many when I got this tank. I got overly excited and ended up with 13 small angels and now that they are all really big its just to many. |

| I started with 7 juveniles in my 4' 90 gallon. Once two of them paired off, they claimed a territory. When they weren't in spawning mode, they kept all the others about 18" away... when they were in spawning mode, they kept all the others confined to the last 12" or so of tank space.
So while you have ample swimming space for several adults, I'm not sure how well it would work long-term if any of them pair off (which is a good possibility if you get several).
To answer your other questions, you can keep angels with corys, but not ghost shrimp. It may work at first, but once the shrimp molt the angels will have a feast. |

| hmm.....what i would do if you can is get a big group of juvie angels, let them pair off, and then keep the pairs that you get out of that unless you get more than three, i think two pairs of angels would be better so they could have some more territory, especially if they start to spawn |

| yeah, you should post another thread asking about stocking for a 65-70 gallon, there are lots of different members with lots of different preferences that should be able to help you find what you like if you went a little higher, say to a 75 you could look at cichlids, here's a "cookie cutter" stocking list http://www.cichlid-forum.com/article...#purple_yellow
oh, and if you really want angels i suggest getting a 29 tall or a 30 hex and buying a proven breeding pair ($$$$$$) or buying six juvenile angels, waiting for a pair to emerge, and then return/sell/trade the rest |

| The problem I have is when you say "keep the pairs", what do you do with the rest? I have 6 pairs that regularly lay eggs in my 75 gallon.
I have asked a couple LFSs and they say they will take them but they don't give anything in trade or pay for them at all. The idea of just "giving" them large angels (mated pairs or 1 year old fry) that they are going to turn around and sell for cash does not appeal to me. So I guess I'm going to put some on craigslist or ebay. The problem is, I know they will end up in poorly maintained tanks with inappropriate tank mates. |

| i know a lot of people either sell them on craigslist or aquabid or something like that, with aquabid you're more likely to get someone who will have a very well maintained tank. its really the only way (aside from buying a proven breeding pair $$$$) to get a pair that won't kill each other unfortunately. when i eventually get my angels, i plan on keeping the angels that don't pair off in separate tanks from the pair and from each other (unless i get two pairs and then each pair will be in a separate tank or something like that) |

| Thanks Alex,
I’ll check out aquabid. It makes sense that a site dedicated exclusively to aquariast would attract people with healthier tanks that would take good care of my fishies.

You don’t have to have “only” angels. I have Cories, Otos, Bristle Nose Plecos, Rummy Nose tetras and German Blue Rams in my 75 gallon. |

But I might be interested in a pair if you list them and their pics on here I bet you could find some really good homes for them..like me...lol. |
