Raising angles

I'm new to angle keeping and want to know how to raise them.I know the water parameters they need I just want to know what kind of plant they prefer, food, and tankmates

3 buenos aires tetra, 2 angels and no "maintenance" fish? DId I read correctly the tank is one month old and Nitrites are 80 (or do you mean NirtAtes are 80?)

angels aren't good with most small tetras (neons, cardinals, rummynose, etc), i'm not sure how big the buenos aires get, but if it's smaller than 3 inches then you may run into some trouble.

also as dvc_r pointed out, your aquarium info says that your nitrites are 80? do you have recent accurate readings for your tank? angels are very sensitive to water conditions and nitrates that high will not bode well for them.

I recently measured and it reas 40. Is there a filter that it doesn't kill them because it just killed all of mine

Again, are you measuring nitrIte, or nitrAte? 40ppm nitrite would be extremely toxic to just about any fish, while 40ppm nitrate would be on the high side, but not lethal.

I'm guessing your filter had very little to do with your fish dying. What are your readings for ammonia and whichever nitr*te isn't at 40ppm?

And to be the bearer of bad news, in the long run, a 15g tank would not be suitable for 2 adult angels. If you don't have a larger tank you can move them to as they grow, you might be better off not replacing the ones you lost.

I was going to say the exact same thing after clarifying some of the other basics.

yep, my recommendation for two angels would be a 30 gallon hex tank for the least amount of gallons you could house them in happily and healthily.

you can use a 20 gallon tank for 2 adult angels. once i have a mated pair i move them to a 20 gallon. i set it up so they can lay their eggs and then take them away from them to hatch them. i have never had any problems.
