Re: 3 Angels Given Away

I really don't want my 75 gallon to be overstocked. I want it to be moderately stocked. And the 30 gallon tank can't have more than 2 Angelfish. So I am giving away 4 Angels, leaving myself only 2 of the batch that I have raised. I mean, they're going to a 110 gallon tank, of which the parameters and stocking level I have checked myself. The tank has fake plants but he wants to get live low-light plants. He already got the driftwood. So, I am hoping for the best.

The 75 gallon will have my old Angelfish pair. The 30 gallon will have the 2 Angels that I'm keeping. Maybe I'll transfer them to the 75 gallon with time. I'll see. I think it's best to have only 2 Angels per one tank, especially if they're a mated pair.

Anyway ... tomorrow's the day! I'll miss them so much They're all so beautiful!

Re: 3 Angels Given Away

OK, I've given them away today. We were acclimatizing them for an hour, plus my friend's water parameters were basically the same as the parameters of my tank. So, I am really hoping everything will be well. He already had 4 Angels in it (younger ones than mine). Now, together with the 4 of my Angels, he has a total of 8 Angelfish in a 110 gallon tank. That's not overstocked. And although it would be better if he had only one pair of Angels in the entire tank, I can't complain with what I got either. Better 110 gallon tank with 8 Angelfish than a dirty local fish store, where my fish would have probably died.

So ... like I said ... all looks well so far. The water was very good. His fish and my fish are healthy. Nothing should go wrong. Keep your fingers crossed

Re: 3 Angels Given Away

That's good, the angels I gave away adjusted pretty well two summers ago, I'm sure they'll be ok. Especially since my grandpa had 6 angels in a 29 gallon tank , somehow it worked

My friend said that my Angels are doing very well My 4 Angels and his 4 young Angels are all swimming together He's not going to stock this tank anymore. He'll just have these 8 Angels in it. Which is very good

Re: 3 Angels Given Away

CRAZY UPDATE:

Imagine that ... lol ... of the 4 Angelfish that I have given to my dad's friend, it turned out that they were 2 pairs! Unbelievably, the 2 pairs are now lying eggs in his 90 gallon tank! He saved one batch in a 10 gallon tank and he's raising them. They made it!

I guess the frequent water changes that I've given my Angels made them extremely productive? LOL

PLUS ... one of the Angels that I have kept, seems to have developed a female's breeding tube, and she's following her male dad all the time ... I think she's getting ready to lay eggs too! It's a good thing I have that 75 gallon tank. I will soon transfer the dad and the mom over there.
