Angelfish NEONS And BLUE RAMS

Are Angelfish compatible with neons and blue rams??
Oh what about Gouramis? Would they do good in a tank with neon tetras?

I have read that angelfish are natural predators of neons. the neons are too little and would probably end up eaten.

I think a Sparkling or Dwarf Gourami would do well with neons, they are too big for the gourami to eat them, and will not be much likely to ba chased if they are in a big enough school 5-6+.

Cardinal Tetras are the natural prey of angels in the wild, though neons and cardinals look almost the same to the fish's eye. I've heard sucess stories, just raise the angels from a small size up in the tank with the neons/cardinals. Not a garuntee they won't become prey...but its a much better chance they won't.

Blue rams and angels should be fine, provided the tank is large enough.

I have kept Black Neons and Green Neons with Angelfish without any problem(even though my friends nicknamed the neons "fish food" ) what seems to work well is to put the neons in the tank first then add the angels the next day.
I just recently had angels and rams in the 55g tank until the rams spawned. I moved the angels to give the fry a chance at survival (mom and Dad ate them ) but the angels and rams did great together.

Are you sure?

I have neons and angels together along with blue rams, and dwarf gouramis. They are all fine.

Yeah, angels are known to snack on neons. It can work, but caution is advised. A lot of times angels are fine with the neons while they are still juvies, but once the angels reach their adult size, the neons can fit easitly into their mouths. Some people have sucess and others don't. It probably depends on the set up, the angels, and the order in which you add them to the tank.

well since this old thread has popped up again, I will add my two cents lol..
Here's a long story.. short.
When I introduced new baby cardinal tetras to my 55g once, the two Angels I had immediately went after them and I lost two cardinals right away. It seemed to be a kind of gut reaction that the Angels experienced and they just reacted on instinct. A very short few minutes later, they were all fine. I have had my two angel fish for a little over a year and a half now and they get along just fine with my cardinals that I have in there and have never bothered them since. Its as if they know that they are 'tankmates'... lol... and not fish food. Plus I have had the Cardinals for quite awhile now and they have grown and are bigger than neons. I just have a strange feeling that if I ever introduced young neons, which is usually what you find at the store, they would not last very long in my tank.
