Koi and Golden Marble

I have been looking for Koi angelfish for a while now. I went to Big Als today and they had angels that the called Koi.. They looked like Koi to me, until I brought them home and was on the internet searching and found the Golden Marble Angel.. What is the difference between the two. They both look the same. Now im wondering if my Koi Angel really are Koi angel.. I dont have a picture of them yet but maybe I will be able to post one later..

Genetics is what makes a Koi Angel well... a Koi Angel (If anybody needs these I will look them up)
Sally Boggs bred among the first and most beautiful Koi Angels. The ones in my album are Sally Boggs koi angels. They are bright white with black on the body and fins with an orange head and red gill covers. The Gill covers are red because the covers are almost translucent and the oxygen rich blood circulating through the gills shows through and makes them "blush"
Now any angel with white, orange and black are called Koi Angels and they are beautiful. Let me show you what the originals looked like

Unless you are going to breed and sell it's probably not necessary to worry about genetics, just that you like it

The fish in the pictures have orange on their heads, the ones we bought are more yellow. One of them has red cheeks but the other 3 do not. They are beautiful fish but they are not koi angels from what i can tell... Ow well they are nice i guess i will just have to get another tank and try again. Just goes to show with the LFS, they had Siamese algae eaters there and i have been looking for them for a while and of course when i tried to buy them they told me they were butterfly loaches haha but i got them anyways and they are Siamese algae eaters. Carol you keep your koi angels with neons have you ever had any problems? I was looking at the "Wanna Dance?" album that tank is gorgeous with all of those loaches, neons and angels.

Thanks

Ryan

You really do have beautiful angels
The tank you are referring to was a 75G and was set up especially for the loaches and angels. When I was setting that tank up everybody including the breeder I got the angels from named the neons "fish food" But I have found if you put the neons in first and give them a day then put the angels in they don't bother the neons. Also those are green neons(Paracheirodon simulans) and black neons(Hyphessobrycon herbertaxelrodi), they are just a tad bit bigger than regular neons(Paracheirodon innesi) or cardinals(Paracheirodon axelrodi)
From my experience Koi Angels are the most laid back angel you could have.
