Angel and congo tetras

I got these congo tetras (have had them for about a month now) and I am a bit worried that they may not have been a good choice for my tank... but they were expensive (50) and they are very happy in the tank. I am worried that they are so much faster than my angel at getting to the food at feeding time. They just shove the angel out of the way and he doesnt seem to get that much too eat. The angel is also not coming out as much anymore. He just hides behind this large piece of drift wood most of the day. He also is the only fish in the tank that hasnt seem to grow since he has been in there. I cant get rid of the congos but is there someway I can make sure the angel gets food? I try to feed him directly but by the time he gets the hint the congos come in like a swarm and knock him all over the place. On top of that the angel has to act all picky and spit food out so a congo can fly by and get it. Should I just not worry about it? Anyone else ever had this problem with an angel in a community tank?

It's a 65 gallon, half planted/half fake plants, lots of decorations. I rotate between feeding mysis (angels favorite, but he still will spit it out sometimes), daphnia, cyclopeez, blood worms, flake, and nori.

I am also wondering how much swimming space angels need? Just wondering if I am crowding him maybe?

what is all in the tank?

What are the readings?

Angels tend to be slow eaters. Can you feed the congos at one end then feed the angel by hand at the other end?

it is a 65 gallon tall there are half live and half fake plants. Here is a pic of the tank, I dont have a good current shot of the whole tank but that is the center (only the moon light is on right now so I cant get a good shot). The residents are an angel, 5 congos, african knife, farlowella cat, bamboo shrimp, and a pearl gourami's.

the readings are normal, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 10-20 nitrate (it's hard to read that test), and 7.4-7.6 pH (also hard to read). but he looks healthy, dark strips, red eyes, and a perfect veil tail. I cant really tell if he is skinny. oh here's another pic

I try to feed on both sides of the tank to help him out. The angel wont eat out of my hand but the congos and the pearl gourami are happy to. I guess that is all I can really do... how do I know if he is skinny... anything clues? like a pinched chest or something?

I've noticed our angels spit out food a lot, to make it smaller to eat. Your angel may feel 'outmanned' or something by the other fish and being the only angel.

You could try feeding the other fish on one side of the tank and feeding the angel on the other, maybe?

ya I will do that... I am just worrying too much... He'll probably start looking unhealthy if he's starving.
