Feeding baby angels
I've got myself two tiny angels, 1 is an inch in length and the other just over an inch. I'm wondering how many times a day to feed them? I've been feeding them twice a day crushed tetra pro. Is this nourishing enough?
I can't help saying that they are just so sweet. Two tiny lil creatures and how they swim excitedly up and down when they see me! I will be getting one or 2 more and trading some in when they mature.

Wow congrats. I can't help you there. I'd imagine fry food or brine shrimp would be fine for them.

I believe at this size you can start feeding chopped blood worms. The beef heart recipe for food I found is produced by Angels Plus, for their commercial operation, but with only two fish, the blood worms should be fine.

Sounds about right. Mine are about that size now. I may introduce them to chopped blood worms. So far they have only eaten baby brine shrimp and crushed flakes so hope they like these.

Are you trying brine shrimp or BABY brine shrimp? Even my platty fry eat the baby brine shrimp. I buy these frozen and they are extremely small.

I think 2 or 3 times a day is fine. I'd go with thawed frozen bloodworms if possible. That and krill are the foods that our Angel sticks his mouth up out of the water for.
Angels are so cool, we'd love to see your little ones.

I'll post a couple pics soon!
I'm just out of frozen blood worms. Havn't been to my lfs for sometime and they are the ones that sell the frozen stuff. I hope to go this weekend and buy my frozen food stuff. I'll so long try freeze dried.

Ah this reminds me I need to post updated pics of my baby marble angels. I have 7 left and all have taken their angel forms, most are dark but some are lighter. I'll be sure to do so in another thread, won't hijack this one. Sounds like yours are indeed in good hands.

I know this sounds gross but I use scissors to snip thawed frozen blood worms small enough for baby fish.
First Bites by Hikari is good for tiny angels. Also try to get them to get used to eating a bite or two of some kind of veggie flakes once in a while. the larger variety of things they eat now the less picky they will be later.
Congrats on the babies!

I have scissors that I only use in the fish tanks, so if your using scissors that might be used for other things make sure and wash them with soap and rinse well after chopping blood worms as some people are allergic to them.

Thanks!
I think i may have a runt. When i bought them both were more or less the same size now, one is now visibly smaller than the other and its gills are kind of too small for its body, so to speak. I'm feeding them 3 times a day small amounts.

Yea, the new female we got has an odd gill on her one side.. I guess that happens with them, but she looks and acts healthy and yours looks great too.
