I reintroduced them on saturday after being separated for quite a while (a month+). On wednesday or thursday I'm going to introduce the female into the main tank with the male. If it doesnt work out then, then i don't think it will work out between them.

Hi Sabi
I wish you luck with that... I hope it works out. Let us know how it goes.. I'd be curious to see if there is any hope for re-introducing my two.
thanks, ~ kate

I have decided to sell my female silver. I know someone who wants to breed her. We haven't had much success so may he will. She has been too aggressive toward everyone. I can't keep her in the she is in now, we need that for baby africans. I still have my female zebra lace, Ziggy. She and Smokey, my black male will pair off.

Wish you luck, buddy!
Lets hope Ziggy and Smokey manage to raise young!
I'm going to introduce Flame, my female , into my main tank with Silver my silver zebra male tommoro. Today he has behaved absolutely normal, so I hope he has more spunk than last time......

Fred could find a nicer girlfriend. Not my Demon-fish. She either need to have 100 males in the tank or be alone. I am named her the black widow of angelfish...two of her males died for one reason or another. She dominated the 120g when it was angels. Angelfish, my a$$.

Never paired.....
Nothing doing with this 2, and thats flat as far as they are concerned.
On Friday i put Flame/Female into Silver's/male tank. For quite a while they didn't see each other... and then they did. They didn't lip lock as much as the first time but stayed rigid staring one another in the eye. After a few tug of war's Flame was whacking Silver all about the tank, I left them a while but it was clear that if i left them together Silver was goning to die. I'm so sad, i really wanted to keep and breed them.
I'm thinking of trading them for 5 small angels and have them grow up together, hoping that that will have a better chance of 2 angels pairing themselves. What do you guys think?

Hi Sabi
Sorry to hear your two just did not get along. You tried your best.
As you know, I have the same problem and continue to keep them separated.
I think your idea of trading them in for some juvies and see if any of them pair off is a good idea at this point. That is if your really keen on breeding them. As with my two.. they are a nice large size, but no plans for any breeding, cant even tell if they are a male/female anyway. So they continue to be the sole angels in their tanks.
But, if your really looking for a breeding pair, then I guess the trade is the way to go. Good luck with with that...

If you want angelfish to breed for you I'd try getting different angelfish. We got a bunch and my silver female paired off with everyone, female or male (as long as they both lived) whoever wanted to lay eggs when she did. A few more gives more of a choice for your fish. I just hope you have better luck with males than I have.
As soon as the guy actually comes for Angel. I am hoping my last 2 will pair off and get along (is that wishful thinking?)

I hope they do!
What you are saying is to get a few angels from different places? Like get 2 from one shop and 3 from another or from different tanks? So they dont "know" each other/not related?

Thanks, Kate. Ya i really want to try breeding them. I'll have to see about trading these in a few months. It will be hard tho, I have Flame for over a year now. May just end up keeping her slone in the main tank.

The male has a tiny colorless something sticking out by his belly, the female nothing. The female still wants to lip lock but he doesn't. The good thing is she is no longer "out to get him" I put him in some weeks ago with the intention of taking him to the lfs in the nest day or two. However the first few minutes had the female chasing the male then the male hid away, for that day when ever he came out of his hiding place she came for him but after 2 days she was leaving him alone, so long as he didn't come by her. Now the female still chases him but only if she challenges him to lip lock and he responds but then backs away. Other wise he nips back at her if she tries to get him. And they are getting on fine apart from the occasional chases by the female.
