Hunger or Gasping for Air?
I am seeking advice. I am new to Angel fish. I have a 28G tank with 2 medium sized angel fish and 3 neon tetras. The angelfish have been in the tank for about 2 days and are very active and are getting along very well with the neons. All of my test results have been coming back very well and the temp is about 78 F. However, every so often the angels go to the surface and stick their mouths out of the surface of the water. I cannot tell if they are just anticipating more food or if they need more air. I have a HOB filter that has a fairly strong current which stirs the surface up. Is this common behavior for the angels? Should i feed them more or should i look into more aeration?
Thanks
Mark
