soooo....

my tank is fully cycled and i ordered some angels online... too many, i know... but i wanted a specific kind, and no pet stores around here have them, and the price was right...

so now i have 10 little babies (dime-nickel size bodies) that are SOOO cute. i won't be keeping them all, but i'll let them grow a little and see how they do, etc... (or maybe my husband will fall in love with them and insist we get some more tanks!... i can hope.)

they handled the cross-country trip very well and are inquisitive and eating plenty... they're strong enough to avoid the pull of the filter intake too, which i was worried about! there are six zebra lace veils and four zebra veils.

i wish i could take pictures and show everyone, but my digital camera broke! maybe i'll drag out my freebie webcam thing and see if i can take a couple shots of them that way. just wanted to share - i'm excited to finally have some real fish.

It's best to buy a lot of baby angels at once. In case some die for one reason or another & until they for pairs (not for awhile tho), or if some get too aggressive for the tank you still have some to keep.
Congrats...it must be cool to see all those itty bitty angels together. We had 13 angels in our 120g ranging from 3" to 8" comb tail (huge breeding pair). The ones which got really aggressive were our single females.

How exciting! I can't wait to see pics. That was really smart to buy a lot at once so that you can ultimately end up with a pair that you really like. Good luck convincing your husband to set up more tanks

i'm a little concerned... on many of them their top fin appears as if it's beginning to fray a little. they're so tiny that it's difficult to tell if this is a problem or not. they have no other signs of anything being wrong, they're very active - they already come to the front of the tank and beg when they see me. so, hopefully i'm just being an anxious new-mom...

You did right by getting a few of them and as Allie says you can keep those that get along when they grow up.

About the fraying fins... I guess as it cant be sure yet, make sure the water is kept clean and all parameters are in order.

I have actually noticed as my angels grew their fins would go thru that frayed phase then it would fill in. It could be growth, but still keep an eye on them. Do water changes...I'd put some sort of stress coat in too. Like Fish Protector or Aqua Plus. It help protect their fins and scales from damage. With baby fish I wouldn't medicated unless I absolutely had too.
