How do you tell the diffeence between a male and female freshwater angelfish?

Other than seeing their tubes, it can be guessed at by bulkiness of the bodies.
Females are usually bulkier than males.

This only works with adult fish.

I know of no way to sex juvies.

I read somewhere about the slope of their heads. A male has a sharper more straight down slope and a female has a more rounded slope of the forehead area. or vice versa. I think it was actually on FL

There are many theories about how to sex angel fish but seeing their breeding tubes during spawning is the only 100% way to know.
