Sorry to hear you lost an angel...
Sometimes its nothing you did, if all was fine in your tank and water perimeters were fine, then more than likely it just couldnt survive the transport and acclimation to your tank. Some are just weaker than others or are very stressed or were sick or weak at the store, the time to tell this is when they first come home whether they survive or not.
good luck with your others, hope they are doing well today?

BTW.. I read that you used salt in your tank. I dont know about salt and angelfish whether that is a good thing or not I would back off on any use of salt, the angelfish are not a salt water fish. Maybe do a water change to get rid of any salt residue you may have in there?

It's not that kinda salt,it's for freshwater fish and the Petstore uses it on all their tanks.Actually all our Petstores in my area uses that salt for their tanks.I had gotten the Angels on monday and it seemed that they are all fine. They were eating and swimming just fine.Maybe he was already sick or weak like you said.I also had a Pleco that I bought the same day and had put in my 29g and he died to.And the water in that tank and all my Tetras are fine.So hopefully that was it and none of the other ones will die.Thank for your reply Kate.

CONGRATS ON YOUR ANGELS!!! I just reacently got my angelfish, gourami, 8 neons, and soon a pleco. They are so great watching them swim. I managed to train my gourami and my newest angelfish (Stripes) They come up to the sides when i come in and nibble @ my finger when i put my finger in. But one question, Do you think 2 Angels, 5 Neons, 1 Gourami and maybe 1 Pleco is too much for a 29 gallon tank ?

Sorry you lost one of your angels. The others are very pretty.

Just want to comment that the bright pink gravel, bright blue background and lack of plant cover in your tank would be stressful for them. When they feel secure, they don't normally race up and down the glass as you described.

Hope these ones will be okay!

keep an eye out for aggression between the angels and gourami...and the common pleco needs at least 75gal. they get up to 18 in, sometimes more

The gravel is orange and purple and not really that bright. It just looks that way because of the flash on my camera. The same for the background, can't take pics without flash,it's not that great of a camera....lol.The Angels have stopped going up and down on the glass and tomorrow I will go and get a new Angel since i still have a warranty on the 1 that died. Here is a pic of the whole tank,so you can tell me if i need to put more plants in it.

i would try to get some tall, large-leaf plants to put in the back of the tank...and move the smaller ones to the front

I will do that tomorrow when I get some new Angels.I'm sad to say but my silver one died a couple of hours ago and the striped one looks like he is not going to make it thru the night.I don't know what to do,the water levels are where they suppose to be.I just did a 25% water change and hope that will help. It's just like 1 1/2 years ago when I started with Angels except this time I cycled the tank.Maybe I'm not suppose to have Angels
If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.It is so frustrating to watch them die and don't know what to do.

Hello sorry to hear about your angel deaths. If I were in the same position as you are in, I would not buy any more angels til you find out what is causing the deaths. For whatever reason it is, its happening and you have one that just died and another that is sick. It is not a good time to add anymore til you find out what is going on. Maybe we can put our minds to work here and try again to figure out what is going on with your angel tank.
But please hold off buying anymore at this point... it will only be heartbreak to loose anymore.

Well the striped one died last night to.The only one that is still alive is the one that was slightly bigger then the other 3.I don't know what could be wrong with the tank.I don't think I gave them too much food, but on the other hand I can't be to sure.I always just put a small pinch in there, but small is different for everybody. My small might be to much for someone else.I had planned on buying new ones today since it's the last day of my warranty on the fish.If I don't buy any can the other Angel die of lonelyness?Don't know if that is a silly question. Thanks for any help I'm getting on this.
