Reintroducing My Angel

I took my black angel out of his 45g and moved him to a hospital tank,on or about 9/15, because he had developed a case of finrot. I have nursed him back to health and all his fins are growing back normally.

However, in the time he was isolated, he has turned shy. When I come into the room to feed him, he hides in the plants and doesnt come out until I leave. I am not sure I should reintroduce him to my 45g as he may be picked on should he exhibit this behavior.

I was going to put him back at night, as not to draw to much attention to his arrival, but wondering now if I should at all?

What do you think?

I would wait until his fins are all better then re-introduce him at night after lights out. Maybe he's missing having other fish with him. But do watch for any attacks on him.

He looks pretty good and all his coloring has returned. His fins are healed, with no signs of tears, rips or fraying. They are just short. They will need time to grow back to full length. I will probably wait another week before reintroducing him, I hope the stealth night move eases the transition.

Butterfly, I am so sad to report, that I had reintroduced my angel last night, and this morning he was all torn up again. Apparently, what I thought was fin rot, was nothing of the kind. I have 2 other angels in that tank, a koi and a ghost, and the koi is all torn up too. Not as bad, but torn nevertheless. So back to QT for the black marble. Looks like Im going to have to find him a new tank.

I'm so sorry it didn't work If two of the Angels are pairing up they will torment any other angels that get near them so watch the other one also.

Very nice angel! Aren't blacks hard to take pics of! We had Black Lace angels at one time but ours were really aggressive so we couldn't keep them with other angels or even more than one pair together.(I had envisioned the 75g full of black Lace Angels ) They did spawn constantly though
Sorry I'm babbling
