Angel issues...please help me!

OK, so I apologize for not being here except when I have a problem with my fish. Well-here's a doozie that even the manager of the pet store, who knows a ton about fish, has never even heard of!!! I have 2 Angels, who've grown up together. One is slightly larger than the other, but up until recently, have gotten along wonderfully. I have a 55 gallon tank, by the way, with an assortment of different fish & snails & plecos. SO-lately, my Angels will attach to one another at the mouth and the larger one will pull the other around by the mouth! Now, I've been observing and the smaller one will grab the larger ones mouth and let it pull it around. But, once they break free, the larger one will visciously chase the smaller until it hides where it can't be reached-which I've already heard about the chasing, it's pretty much normal. Now-if anyone has any ideas or knowledge of the 'mouthing' thing, please, fill me in!!! This is one of the more bizarre things I've ever seen!!! Side note: I only have been turning the lights on to feed-and they seem to only do this when the lights are ON and not off...too weird.
As for me-nothing but problems, so I'll spare you I think of you all often, wish I could be here, but I'm always so tired. I actually got around to cleaning my tank today-on top of running errands...sounds easy, but I only have 8-10 weeks to go before my new daughter arrives Anyhow-take Care & keep up the good work you've all done here!!!
Muah!

Hey Mary! It's great to see you here! It sounds like you either have 2 males fighting for dominance, or a mated pair doing the mating dance. Just keep any eye on them and separate them if you have to.

The details could help in diagnosing the problem though, as it always helps to be thorough.

Re: Angel issues...please help me!

odd behavior... i have never successfully kept angels but from what i have read it sounds like breeding... im not sure about the lights though... very strange...

**betta waita marc didnt say anything wrong just because you think diagnosing is a big word doesnt mean you have to start an argument...

Re: Angel issues...please help me!

Hm, first off, I usually get compliments on my font, etc., secondly-who are you? Thirdly & most importantly of all, my goofy angels are still doing it! OK-a few nights ago, I finally released my baby guppies into the 'general' population-they're doing GREAT! As a matter of fact-I have NEW baby guppies as of tonight! So-my baby guppies are already having babies! I first 'fished' the 2 babies out, then decided to put them back in & let's see how it goes.

*Side note: Hm *thinking * last time I checked, a FORUM only works if people communicate-and since I can't call ya'll on the phone....OK-feed the flamer (FYI-a 'flamer' is a troublemaker & one who purposely attempts to start sh*t and should be ignored* !!!)

The countdown has begun: 7 weeks & counting

ALSO-all of the unnecessary & unhelpful posts have been removed!

Go Mary!! Go Mary!! Go Mary!!! I would think as long as they(the angels) aren't hurting each other not to worry They'll either work out the territory thing or you will find eggs

Re: Angel issues...please help me!

souds like mating to me my angels do something similar to that and they mate everyweek and sometimes they male will chase the smaller one which is the female for no apparent reason until he cant find her weird becareful of the baby guppies htough if the angels happen to be hungry and there are decorations that the can get stuck in the angels might get stuck trying to eat the baby guppies thats what happened to my angel when my guppy had babies and it took me a halfhour to get him out of the cave he was stuck in and i was freaking out since i couldnt get him out he was stuck good but sounds like mating to me if you want to see the eggs check on them every day on a flat surface like fiilter tube or amazon sword plant for eggs thats where i find my eggs but they are only there for a few hours then they dissapear

GOOD LUCK
