saved an angel, need help!

hi gang! last night i saved an koi angel. i went to the lfs, and i saw it there - tatered and torn, and i just couldnt help myself... shes pretty beaten up, all her fins are frayed, not rotted from what i can tell. is there anything you use that speeds up fin regeneration. I wouldnt want to lose her... I know she will be the showcase of my tank if she makes it.

Re: saved an angel, need help!

Angels like their water a little warm around 78-80 degrees and the water needs to be really clean to grow her fins back good and straight. good luck!
What size tank is she in and what else is in the tank ?

Carol - 45g: shes in with a ghost angel and a marble, molly, glass cat fish, rummy nose, bala, pictus, gourami, swords and corys. she is easting and she is swimming back and forth, other than the tattered fins, she looks ok. my other angels are taking no interest tho...?

Re: saved an angel, need help!

Keep a really close eye on her that tank is close to if not overstocked. Being the odd angel she may get picked on at some point. You might want to do a couple of extra water changes to give her fins a jump start on growing back.

Good luck with the poor Angel. It's so good of you to have rescued it Also, here is also some serious info to consider about the Bala Shark: http://www.aquariumlife.net/profiles...ark/100085.asp

Re: saved an angel, need help!

Isabella, thanks for the link... but the balas are in there temporarily. they are still small right now, about 2 in, but they are going to go in the 90g that I am in planning stages for. I have the tank, but nothing else yet... I figure I have 4-5 months before they start to grow and by then the 90 should be up and running... thanks again, tho.

Re: saved an angel, need help!

Sadly... with all my effort, that poor beat up angel didnt make it. I thought she might have a shot, but I guess it was not to be... I hope I made her final hours better than they would have been at the lfs. She was such a pretty fish...
