Fins came off!

Has anyone ever seen or heard of the tails of an angel fish and wiskers just coming off. I am an angel fish that has lost his tail and wiskers(whatever those are called), but it seems that they are growing back. Is this normal? My first thought was my other 2 angels beat him up, but they are all young and their are no signs of aggression, and it doens't seem like the other 2 are a pair yet. They are always calm, and seem to get along just fine. Please help, just concerned for the little guy.

Re: Fins came off!

I don't think a fish's fins can just "come off" ... lol It's probably either fin rot or a result of other fish harassing the Angel. You should keep your water extra clean during the time the Angel is healing. Try to keep your nitrate as low as possible, and of course 0 ammonia and 0 nitrtite. Best of luck with your Angel.

Re: Fins came off!

Stradius ... I know! Very happy to see you I have been very busy (work and some continuing education courses), but otherwise I and my fishies are doing very well I am on a vacation now, so I have some time off, which is why I'm here. I can't promise to be here a lot in the future due to my busy schedule, but I will do my best to try to be here whenever I can. Once again, good to see you!
