Coral Beauty Angelfish

Could a coral beauty angelfish be alone in a 10 gallon tank?

Re: Coral Beauty Angelfish

Hello!
In my little book "the Interpet Q an A manual of the marine aquarium" it says that dwarf angelfish should be kept in a minimum of 25 gallons. They also need high quality filtered water whcih means a protein skimmer and activated carbon.

Have you just started a marine tank then?

Re: Coral Beauty Angelfish

Nope. They are hardy for the dwarf angels, but IMO a 10 gallon tank's water parameters would fluctuate to much for them, not to mention that they like to swim...

well I just did some research and I don't think 10 gallon tanks work for saltwater no matter what.

Re: Coral Beauty Angelfish

Yeah I would not recommend going saltwater unless you have a minumum of 40 gallons. The bigger the better..
smaller marine tank parameters also fluctuate too greatly for fish to cope with. You could build a nano reef (check out some images in google) but i wouldn't recommend them without some previous experience.
They're beautiful tho!

Re: Coral Beauty Angelfish

I wouldn't say that a 10 gallon saltwater tank wouldn't work "no matter what". After all, there are many advanced hobbyists keeping nano-reef tanks that are about this size.
