Condy Anemone Feeding

Hello, I have a question on feeding my condy. I read that feeding it directly once or twice a week is good. I have not fed it directly yet as it seems to eat well with the plankton and mysis shrimp left over floating in the tank after feeding my Bangai Cardinal. So how do I know it needs more? And if I do feed it directly...how much is too much. It seems to be doing fine but I dont think I would know if it were not anyway. My tank is 55g with two clowns, one bangai cardinal, two peppermint shrimp, one fire shrimp, 15 hermit crabs, 10 snails, two power heads, hang on back boi wheel filter, 60lbs of live rock. Its been running for several months and all perameters and temps are good. Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi what lighting do you have as they require high output lighting such as metal hailides ,, if this anemone starts to dull in colour then it is not healthy what colour is it if white they start to go clear if it does this then QT and see if you can nurse back to health if these die they release toxins in to your tank ,,, They also require iodine for growth , keep well away from other corals as it will sting and kill them , not good for clowns to host in pretty much only clarki clowns will , red leg hermits will feast on them killing them ,,

Hope this helps

I have t5 lighting and the condy is bright white and fully expanded or inflated during the day and shrinks at night. Looks to be very healthy but like I said, I really dont understand how I can tell if there is a problem. I did not know that about the hermits and will look at what I have. I know there are blue leg hermits in there and I think I saw some with yellow stripes. Thanks for the info.

Also...about the iodine. Is that something I add to the tank weekly? Is there a test for it? I guess I will be making a trip to the store tomorrow.

hit ctrl-f and put down iodine. I don't recommend you put in too much. It might hurt the fish if overdosed. I stopped using it since I lost my naso tang. (it died because of overdosing)
