Stock lights support anemone?????

The AquaPod 12 Gallon Aquarium is an all-in-one nano reef or saltwater fish only aquarium. This elegant aquarium features modern styling that compliments any decor and features seamless front rounded glass corners for optimum viewing. The contrast of the black back will highlight the vibrant colors of fish, invertebrates and plants. Hidden under the sleek canopy you’ll find a sophisticated high performance lighting system featuring two 27W SunPaq compact fluorescent lamps and Nocturnal Blue Lunar Lights to complete the 24-hour lighting cycle.

I want to have a bubble tip anemone for the maroon clownfish that is currently in the tank. Will my stock lights be able to support the anemone or should I upgrade the lights? If upgrade, which upgrade lights will fit, specifically if possible. Thanks in advance.

Short answer, no. Anemones need strong lighting and stable water, and PC's just don't provide that. A stable aquarium running 6 months or more is recommended, and a 12g tank is not very big for an anemone. As they move around to find a spot they like, they will sting every other coral in their path. Also, a maroon clown will get BIG as far as clowns go and should be in a larger tank.

As far as an upgrade, a 70watt Metal Halide Viper clip-on would be a great addition, or a bank of T5 bulbs. Sorry, I don't know specifics about the size of your tank (width/height/depth) so it's hard to recommend a lighting upgrade without that info.

Thanks au01st because that was a very clear answer. By the way, it is:

"Exterior dimensions for the entire AquaPod (including filter, lights, etc.) are 16.5"L X 15"W X 16.5H. The actual tank dimensions are 16.5"L X 12"W X 13.75"H."

...and my tank has only been running for a little over 2 months, however, I do not plan on having corals in my tank so will a 12 gallon be suitable for a bubble tip anemone? My maroon does not seem to have grown over the months as it is still small, ie probably 2 inches.

IMO a bubble tip would be fine in that tank with its stock lights.
i have seen BTA'S under pc's before and they were very happy and healthy so really it is up to you .
