new bubble tip

Hi, I just got a new pink bubble tip for my tank, is is better to place it on the sand or should it be up on the live rock, or does it really matter since it will move where it wants to. I just wasn't sure if it needs a rock to attach on to or can it attach into the sand as well. Thanks.

I have had a few different types fo anenomes. carpets like the sand, but most others live on the rocks. It will move wherever it wants, but i would place it on the rocks anyways. it will settle into one spot alot quicker. Ive noticed the bubble tips i have had always have their foot under or between rocks and stick their body out into the open

Thanks for the reply, I'll put it up on the rocks, right now it is on the sand. I've also heard you can put a piece of PVC tubing in the sand and put the base of the anemone in, has anyone heard if this works.

Ive heard of that, but bubble tip anenomes are stubborn, and will move where they want anyways, I fought with mine to keep him off of my coral untill he finally setteld midtank. I think the pvc would work more for carpet anenome.
