African Dwarf Frog Food?

Two days ago I bought two African Dwarf Frogs to put in my 14 gallon instead of Albino Cories. They are the cutest things ever! Anyways, I want to know what to feed them. I have been hand feeding them 2 bloodworms a day, and I want to know if that is too much or too little. I also want to know if I can feed them Wardley Shrimp Pellets. I bought a container of them when I thought I was getting cories. Also, is it normal for them to hide alot? I only see them at night when I am ready to go to bed. Are they nocturnal, or are they just scared of the light? I love them, but they're so shy!

Congrats on your little froggers.
I think you already know how much I love ADF's!

I give mine about 5-6 blood worms a peice once a day. Mine are adults so if yours are small, a couple a day should be fine.
After they're done eating, they should have little round bellies. Not big!
While I'm sure they enjoy the shrimp pellets, I wouldn't give them as a main diet.
HBH frog and tadpole pellets are more balance for them.
They do hide a lot especially at first, but soon they get used to the tank and come out more especially when they get used to what time feeding time is.
My two are in a 5g mini bow and I swear, sometimes I have a hard time finding them. lol
Make sure there are NO openings, they can squeeze out of the tiniest openings.
Believe me, I found out. Thank goodness I saw him in time.

I think I gave you this link before, but just in case:
Care Sheet For African Dwarf Frogs

Keep an eye out and have a back up plan in case your betta doesn't accept them.

Enjoy them and post some pics soon!

Mine are still pretty small. I think I'll just give them like 3 a day until they get a little bit bigger.

I thought that African Dwarf Frogs were supposed to be peaceful!! I know they're not Clawed frogs because all four of their feet are webbed. When I was feeding Jaws this morning, one of the African Dwarf Frogs grabbed on to his tail! Did he think it was food, or was he actually being aggressive? I moved the frogs to my 4 gallon quarantine tank until I find out what was wrong.

frogs dont see very well....so they can grab at anything that moves thinking its food...im sure they also can be territorial if you have a m/f combo ....lucy is great with the frog species but shes having problems logging on ..im sure once she can, she will be of great help

Hi Jaws
I'm still having problems logging in but I'm here for now.

Shawnie's right about the frogs mistaking the betta's tail for food.
They'll lunge at anything.
Sometimes one of mine will grab the other while eating.
Good thing they don't have teeth huh?

Ok. Thanks. Also, I was wondering if salt was bad for them. I added some salt to the tank once I took them out, because Jaw's fins have been looking really ragged and I was told to add a little aquarium salt to help with the healing process. Should I keep them in the 4 gallon until the salt is reduced by water changes, or will they be ok?

I'm not real big on using salt myself. ADF's don't tolerate it very well.even a little too much can be fatal.
