Bad Wolf

anyone know a tank mate for these guys? i really want to know. even if the tank mate is boring. oh btw he's 9-10 inches.

If you really want to put something else with an Axolotyl, you MIGHT, and I stress MIGHT, be able to keep a few goldfish with it,I have known people do this successfully, if you had a big enough tank, and excellent filtration. The Goldfish would have to be pretty big though, otherwise the Axolotyl will eat them. I personally wouldn't try it though. If you're determined to get something else, why not just get another Axolotyl?

I agree with Nick here. The only good tankmates are other axolotls. Fish would probably stress it or get eaten and different species of caudate should not be kept together.

i have an axolotl (7 inches) with several danio..
admittedly i have lost a few on the way but he hasnt eaten 1 for a while know. i also have guppys in as well they generally keep to high up out the way, also adds colour to the tank,
