Spawning ADF's

My frogs are clearly in the embrace and she's desposting her eggs. Pretty cool!
I though I had eggs last week and tried to remove them.
I need to go do some research.

No wonder why my tetras don't hold still for pics!

Thanks for the link. I think I have it on my favorites. I did a lot of reading on frogs before I got them. Now to sort through all the info!

Hmmmm.....about my husband's birthday gift.

They're very sticky, I ried to move the last ones. When I got to the new tank, I couldn't see them (I used a white cup)

Moving the parents would be a lot easier.

Some of the eggs were in the food dish. I used a turkey baster and sucked some out of the gravel, put them in the food dish and just transferred that the to a 1.5g.
I left the ones hanging on plants in the frog tank and there's more in the gravel, we'll see what happens
It looks like they're fertilized.

lol, Yes...apparently whatever grows in it is small enough for the newly hatched tadpoles to eat.

The trick is to make the green water appear when one does want it!

That sounds awesome. Though this is not for frogs, it's a great site and the care requirements are pretty similar, until metamorphosis, which I'm guessing might not be that different either :

http://www.caudata.org/cc/articles/microfoods.shtml
http://www.caudata.org/cc/articles/raising.shtml
http://www.caudata.org/cc/articles/why_larvae_die.shtml This one might be able to really help you.

There care is probably pretty similar to fish too.

Congrats!
I look forward to seeing the progression of them hatching and morphing from tadpoles to frogs! This is so exciting!
I hope things go well with your green water. If I remember correctly you need plenty of sunlight and some phosphates? I am trying to do this backwards. I know when you are trying to get rid of it you have to make sure you don't have your tank in direct sunlight and you have to remove the phosphates in the water. And something about adding potassium to get rid of algae.
I guess it is like washing your car to make it rain, you just have to not want it to happen and it will!
Or we can try doing the green water dance!

Thanks everyone.
Great links Will!

I'm in touch with someone who has sucessfully bred them, it looks like a lot of hard work.

We'll see what happens.

Well, the first batch didn't hatch it looks like they went all fungusy (is that a word?)
They ate the ones I left in the tank. I kinda figured they would.

Looking at the tank now, I see more eggs, they weren't there earlier when I did their water change.....busy little frogs.

It's 2:45am, I haven't cleaned out the spare tank from the last batch and I don't plan on cleaning a tank now. lol
I'll have to fast them tomorrow, they'll be full.

It also looks like I'll get plenty of chances to try to get some tadpoles in the future.

I just love these little froggers they're so cute.
With so many being effected by the Chytrid Fungus I feel privledged to have 2 healthy ones.

Well, I got a big surprise. The eggs that I removed from the tank may not have survived but some in the tank must have.

I was watching my female floating at the top, when I went over she was actually stalking a tadpole.

I scooped out as many as I could get. There's still more in the tank, but the buggers are so tiny.

I tried to get some pics of them tonight but they're just too small.
Their bodys are about the size of the head of a pin with a little tail.

Thanks, I hope they survive.

It's funny how when I feed them, a blood worm can land right on their head and they don't know it.....but boy let a tadpole move in the water and they're right on it.
