Re: getting stuck

Well, bigger would give them room to pile in together, and more room for you to see them.

My favorite dwarf frog trick is to have marimo moss balls in the tank. ( you can google for more info on them) Since they are round, when the frogs try to hide underneath them, which is frequently, they instead end up rolling the ball across the tank with their noses down. It is great! So I recommend the moss balls because they are such fun to watch, and also tall live plants, because the frogs like to rest in them.

Re: getting stuck

If you are worried about them getting sucked into the tube, I read you can cover the end with pantyhose and rubberband or zip-tie and then you don't change the flow.

On a similar thread, I read that Dave was recommending against nylon on the intake of the filter. He recommended (harder) fish netting. He said that that would prevent all the goo being stuck before the intake.

Re: getting stuck

Myself, I use window mesh - you can buy it really cheap at hardware stores, and it's really easy to work with. It's stiff and set out in a grid for easy measurement. I make breeder nets by cutting a cross shape, folding it into an open cube, and sewing the corners with fishing line. You can also make little filter-cozies which are a lot more attractive than a wad of netting rubber-banded on.
