Can anyone help with sexing?

This is my Blue Acara, (going to the toilet), I've had he/she for around 6 months and theres a Male around the same size for sale locally. If she's a she then I think I'll get her a boyfriend, but I'm not familiar with the differences between sexes of this particular species. Can anyone help?

Unfortunately blue acaras look the same except when breeding time. It is at mating that the male develops six to eight green-gold spots but the female remains the same (as usual).

With monomorphic fish (e.g. Oscars) I've had to use the help from my fish vet.

Hard to tell right now. Females stay smaller then males, and males will also develop the pointed fins at the back that extend past the tail of the fish. Females normally don't have this, but you never know until you see them breed.

Yup that's a feme 100% sure of it. They are easy to sex if you know what too look for. The head shape is differant onthe females they have a slope and males are more square. My female is also a darker color but I would not go by that. The head shape is the only ture way to tell.
