Guianacara Geayi

About 30 months ago I picked up some Guianacara Geayi (Bandit cichlid) I had 5 of them. Never seen them around here so I figured I would try them. After a year I starting asking questions mainly about what gives why aren't these guys breeding. A few friends laughed and said those fish are a long project, one said it was almost 3 years to the day that he got his first spawn which the fish promply ate. So I have been waiting and waiting..... about 2 months ago 2 of them killed off the other 3, I was ticked at first but then began hopeing this was a good sign that possibly they may be pairing up. I don't think they are quite there yet but last night I did notice they are showing some great color.

A few months ago.

And the male last night.

I may have to move those Gymno's out of there but I think I will give it a few more months before I change anything. But I sure hope these guys do something they have been a long project.

Also that Geophagus Brasiliensis at the top of the pic was found dead this morning....

Wow, Brian, they're beautiful! It's amazing how much they've changed since you got them.

Bandit cichlids, huh? I'll be putting these on my "research" list-see I can spell and pronounce that

Yep I got those guys when they were about 1/2".

Most of the Guianacara species are very cool, they just don't show up very often.
Thanks BB.
