Picking up some fish today

A buddy called last night and said he was done with my pair of Hypselecara Temporalis (chocolate cichlid) so I will be picking them up today around noon!
I got eggs before he took them but no fry so I excited to try at breeding these guys.
He also has 3 extra good sized ones for me, 1M/2F so anyone around Winnipeg you can have them for free if you pick up!
Will post some pics once they settle in.

I don't know BB, when I walked the kids to the school bus yesterday morning it was -4c (24F). I am not ready for winter!. I wonder if the kids are big enough to walk themselves once it gets to -40 hmmmm.
But yes they are a cool fish aren't they.

That's not good. I freeze when it drops below 60 here. I beg for hot flashes in the winter

got some chocolate's

So here's the story with these fish. I had a pair of Hypselecara Temporalis that were about 6" or so. I needed their tank for another project so I gave the pair to a buddy, I also had 18 small ones from somewhere else about 1-1.5". So I gave him the big pair and sold him the fry for $20. I was suppose to pick up the big pair, but they began cleaning a spawning site late last night, so when I got there to pick them up he told me. I will just let him keep those and I grabbed a pair from the smaller guys. The original pair is HUGE now easily 9-10" and about 2.5" thick. So here are some pics of the pair I picked up, not great as I just got home with them. I will get some nice pics once they settle in in the next few days.

Male all stressed out from the bucket ride home.

I'm a SA/CA cichlid fan only. Not a huge fan of Africans. Too many different names, and types that can't go together for me.

We can't all make the right choices Amanda......

Seriously though there are lots of very cool African species, I did them for about 3 years and just couldn't get into them like the others. I still research them from time to time, but not sure when or if I will do another tank of them. I will be ok by looking at others fish.
