a few questions

a friend of my dads wants to get rid of some cichlids. i'm not sure what type they are. some of them are plain blue, others a brown and others have vertical bars/stripes.

are they aggressive?

just wondering, could they live in a community. i have fish as small as guppies and kuhlies.

could they live with an axolotl?

thanks for all

They sound like African Cichlids which need species only tanks. But even if they are SA Cichlids they won't live with small community fish. Well, they'll live, but the small fish won't.

I agree, they sound like africans. They should be in a species only tank, as they are a very aggressive fish.

they definitely can't live with an axolotl, axolotls really need very specific conditions that aren't compatible with fish.

if you can post pictures then we can help identify them much more specifically

It's not a good idea to keep fish with Axolotyls. The fish will nip at their frills, and as the Axolotyls are nearly blind they can't really defend themselves. They do best in species only tanks.
