Parrots & livebearers??

I'm hoping to get some livebearers tomorrow for my 55; that way my angels can get a nutritious snack in the fry. But....will my parrots try to eat the livebearers? I need some answers quick since I'm hoping to get a few tomorrow. Thanks!!

Depends what sort you get. They'll probably eat Guppies, but Platys, Swords, or Mollies would probably be Ok.

I was thinking either platies or mollie.
Is there a way to tell the sex? Does anyone know if they are all in the same tank at Petsmart? I'm sending my mother, and she doesn't know anything about fish.

You need to look at the Anal fin. The males is thin and pointed, wheras the females looks like a normal anal fin. They aren't difficult to sex so the people at the store SHOULD know the diiference.

Haha. It's Petsmart.
I don't remember them ever being seperated by sex, so I'm hoping they're all together.
Knowing my luck, I'd get all one gender. Sheesh.

They're usually all kept together. When I buy new female Platys I pick ones that are already pregnant.

Thanks Nick!
Hopefully the salesperson can at least figure that much out.
