Today I just bought 2. Is there anyone who has them or has had them? I would like to find someone else who has one...

We have several here, including a 7 inch male.
I would not reccommend keeping a pair in anything smaller than a 75.

Would it be fine since I do not think I will keep them once they get too big, or I'll get a new tank... Also, how long should that be? Right now they are about 2-2 1/2 inches...

They are not easy to sex until they become adults.
Generally, females are bulkier.

What should I do if I'm trying to have a pair then?

Buy 3-4 more and watch for a pair bonding.
At that point, sell off the non bonded fish.
And, get the pair a bigger tank.
