Could someone take a look and tell me that all I have is diatoms?

Just want a second opinion, that's all. Both my tanks have it, and they both got it at about the same time.

I've done the reading, and I know it will go away on it's own.. it's just a terrible eyesore!

On the plus side, my goldfish really seems to love it.. she's constantly trying to eat it off any surface she can! Is this normal?

Just looks like diatoms. The stuff on the glass will wipe away pretty easily so you can remove that. For any that is growing on plants you could add a Bristlenose. They don't mind the lower temps & will make short work of the diatoms. I wouldn't trust that the Goldies are after the diatoms. More likely they are trying to eat the actual plants.

I don't know.. I'm pretty sure she knows by now she can't eat the plants, they're silk.

Plus, she never really seemed all that interested in them until the brown stuff appeared.

Yes they look like diatoms, my dad's 40g was having the same problem. What helped was leaving the lights on for a longer period.
