Can an algae tab cloud water???

OK, I put an algae tab in the tank for the pleco last night and this morning the tank was all clouded up again... the ammonia readings went up a bit as well.
I did a 25% water change and got the ammonia back to 0, and all the other readings are good, but the water is still a bit cloudy.* Hopefully tomorrow it'll be OK.
But the question I have is can a stupid algae tab cause the water to change this bad overnight* If so I'm tossing them.

One wafer shouldn't have clouded it up or made the Ammonia jump up either.

I wouldn't have thought so either... but it's the only thing I can think of. At least the angels seem OK.
I'm definitly baffled on this one.

I will, I promise. I just tested the water again, everything tests OK, but it's still cloudy... hopefully it'll be clearer in the morning.
Have i mentioned I HATE mysteries (I'm more of a Sci-fi fan...lol)

Sci-Fi rocks!
I know it's off topic but have you seen the new Dresden File programs on Sci-Fi channel on Sunday evening? I just finished the books, which are written by Jim Butcher and they are great. Sorry for the Hyjack but couldn't resist pointing another sci-fi lover in the right direction.

Re: Can an algae tab cloud water???

No, I haven't seen it, but i will definitly check it out.
Works been too nuts lately, and I've been working the weekends. The $$$ will be great, but by the time i get home I'm too beat to watch too much TV without falling asleep.
As for the tank, it's still cloudy, but the angels are still OK and all the tests are OK as well. I did another water change, about 40% or so. All i can think of is the algea tab caused another bacteria bloom... stupid florida water, it's like having a mini red-tide in my tank! lol

Re: Can an algae tab cloud water???

OK, it's been 3 days... I'm doing partial water changes and it's FINALLY cleared up. Still a little bit cloudy, but much much better. And as weird as it seems, the angels seem to have survived.
