Phloxface

I have a problem with bright green algae in two of my tanks. It seems to be related to one particular type of plant that I have in both tanks (I don't know the name of the plant). My two 10 gallon tanks are split and the plants are only on one side of each of the tanks. Those sides have algae, the other sides don't so I'm figuring it must be the plant. Is there any way to get the algae off the plant or will I need to get rid of these plants. It would be a shame as I really like them and they are growing well.

I bet its where the sun hits the tank. If not I really have no clue! Sorry

The tank is in a dark corner of the room, plus my blinds are always closed and windows covered with paper. I don't like sun or heat...
There is a tank light but the algae seems to be only on one side of the divided tank which has that plant. My other tank is the same way, divided and the section that has the same plant has algae.
