I have brown algae i assuming it is algae on my plants would you treat it like any other algae to get rid of it?

If your tank is only a couple of months old, then it's probably just diatoms, which is actually not algae at all. It is ugly, but only temporary. It will go away on its own. Cut back on your daily lighting, and it will sudenly disappear one day with no trace.

When this happened to me, I picked up 3 Oto's. I noticed from your sig that you already have one Oto,.... man, he must be in heaven with food all over the place.

Anyway, my 3 Oto's cleaned up my 20g in just a few days, and it was starting to look bad before I got them!

Thanks for the advice i will lay off the lighting for a while and see what happens i also may get another otto or two to keep the other company. Thanks again
