Green Beard Algae

All I've ever dealt with is the hard dark green stuff that's generally sponge-able. I left my tank for a measly three days and now I can barely see in it (exxageration)

How do I get rid of this?
(Additional; cories in the tank, so if you recommend a chemical it has to be fish (duh) AND cory safe.)

Here is a link you may find very helpful.
Scroll down to Aquarium Blackout.

If you don't mind I'm moving your thread to the "algae" section of the forum.
Thanks!
Ken

Blackout technique isn't going to work I don't think. The tank is already in the darkest corner of the room and the lights were off while I was gone yet it popped up on every inch of the tank in days. lol. Guess I'll just have to scrub and hope.

Additional: My largest Gourami, Kiwi, is not a fan of shrimp, and will kill them on sight. And my cory's food has copper in it. So that's a no-go. Thanks anyways, DrGueedo.

I was actually hoping to get some otos to see if they'd get rid of it for me when I went up for more dechlor (need to change water) but all that was in their tanks were some tetras and dark green algae. They missed a shipment of fish. Sigh.

Well, problem kinda solved. Scrubbed out two sides of the algae, at which point I noticed my cories going crazy for the stuff. Little food trails all over where it's been mowed down.
