Freshwater Algae Eater for low PH aquariums
I am trying to find an algae eater for my 40gal tall aquarium - its a soft water at 5.0-5.5 with amazon sword plants inhabited by 7 neon tetras and 6 black skirt tetras & 1 porthole catfish 8 years old - set up is 10 years old - {removed hypostamus plec to another aquarium due to size, he now inhabits a 55 gal alone} I would like to replace him to keep the tank free of algae, with a catfish that can survive and thrive in a softwater environment. Does anyone have information on such a catfish or other fish that can provide me with the continuous removal of algae.
Thank you -
