Algae bloom

Well, discovered my dingy water is actually an algae bloom. What can I do about it? I have covered the tank so no light gets in and have cut down to 1 feeding a day. Love some help, please!

Thanks!* I am on my second full day and have not even uncovered the tank.* Miss seeing the fish!
PS. Would getting an algae eater help the tank?

Re: Algae bloom

deffinatley would help but that depends on how many you have in your tank at the moment and the size of your tank... as to what type of algae eater you be best... is it like hair algae or surface algae? if its kinda hairy a molly would help cure that any other type of algae and how bad it is is pending the type that would best suit you

Re: Algae bloom

Hi,have you seen the ultraviolet light system that sits in the bottom of your tank ,it sucks water past the bulb and kills the algae, works the same as the ones for ponds.I haven't got one my self but maybe some body on here has.
