New Algae...
I have noticed some brownish spots on my plants. I think it may be brush algae. Do you have any idea what it is, why its there, and how I can get rid of it?
Hopefully the pictures aren't too blurry...

I don't know for sure, but it just looks like the beginnings of diatoms. They don't normally show up in a tank that's been established as long as yours, but they do sometimes.

I have noticed some new algae on my glass, but it is greener. It also is hard to wipe off...
But they feel the same.. they might be the same type...
Why would they be here, and how can I get rid of it...
I just realized that I have seen a little bit on my striped plant for a while...
Now it is not only on that but on my Wisteria, Sword & grass...

Yeah, that's what I've beem looking at... My stuff looks exactly like the brush on 3rd from the top...
How can I get it off? I'd prefer not to have to take off all of my leaves, since its on a ton...

Did you read this article?
http://www.thekrib.com/Plants/Algae/red-algae.html
it describes how to do a diluted bleach bath to kill the algae. If you do it be very careful and i would recommend soaking it in dechlorinated water for a while after you rinse it(the plants). Siamese Algae Eater are a good alternative if you can find them. I have been looking but no one around me caries them and from what i have read they are impossible to breed so... Anyways there is a profile of them at the bottom of this page

I don't know but maybe snails will eat it not sure though

Hmm.. I read the thing, and I don't think that I'd be able to bleach it, because there's a lot of plants, and I'd prefer not to screw around with my tank...
I noticed that it said Cardina/Neocardina may work... Those would be like amano or cherry shrimp, right? Has anyone used those before?

Will the algae kill my plants, or will they be able to survive for a few months with it?
If they can survive, then I will just wait until I get back from camp this summer, and just buy some shrimp...

Eventually if it gets bad enough it will cover the entire plant starving it from lack of light and it will die. But thats only if it gets that bad, it may just stay the same for a long time or just go away all together.

So... how long would it take for that to happen with about 1.2 watts of light?

The striped plant is a non-aquatic http://www.plantgeek.net/plant-276.htm looks like the leaves are dyeing, if they are they are adding algae food to your tank.
Could you tell us what your Nitrates are please?
