Aquarium cycled, brown algae

Hi, my 80L aquarium has cycled! All the water reading are 0. But there is brown algae growing on everything. I read it was common for newly set aquariums, and that it will dissapear. What should I do now - should I clean the walls, wash the plants (artifitial) and vacume the gravel? Or leave it as it is not to disturb the newly established bacteria collony and brown algae will indeed dissapear all by itself? I have 3 zebras danios at the moment and was planning to add 3 more, once the tank cycled. Should I get an algae eater first to help clean the tank?
Thanks

You can scrape it off the glass and decor if you like (I always did, just because it looks so nasty!). If you vac the gravel, don't do more than 1/2 the tank at a time.

I had the same problem. I got a long finned BN Pleco last week and the algae is gone! He worked miracles. On my other tanks that have had it, it went away on its own though.

Thanks, I wiped the walls and will eventually get an algae eater as well. Hopefully it will go away in a while.

That's diatoms and should eventually go away, but I usually clean it out when it pops up.

I used a LPI kit for algae treatment in my tank as it was to much for my pleco. It seems to have stopped growth but not removed it all. I will give one more dose and thats it. If you go the chemical route be sure to take out any activated carbon as it will destroy the anti-algae stuff.
