Re: Algae Cleaning

I've never had an acrylic tank, but I really doubt it would. It seems a toothbrush, seeing as it is gentle enough for your gums, should be gentle enough for hardened plastic, eh?

If I were you, I'd try it out in an inconspicuous area, maybe on a back corner below the substrate line.

Re: Algae Cleaning

i don't think it would - unless it's one of those goofy ones and even then almost 0% chance i think.

Re: Algae Cleaning

It's not your gums you're meant to brush, but your teeeeeeeeeeth. Sorry, had to be silly. Everybody's being really serious at work today, LOL.

Re: Algae Cleaning

Ya with a soft brush it should be, just try in the back in a odd spot first. But personally I would try to clean with fish snails or shrimp. As if you scrape your glass/acrylic while the algae is green on your glass is will release thousands of spores and come back even stronger. I let my critters clean mine when I occasionally get a some on the glass, and if they miss any I let it run its course and scrape it only after it has browned in colour.
