difference between air bars and bubble wands?

i am interested in adding bubbles to my 20 gallon tank. i am pretty new to the fish keeping world so i am so confused. what is the difference between airstone bars and bubble bars? i have looked at several different air accesories at petco, drfosters, petsmart and every other fish supply retailer that showed up in my google searches. please any clarification would be much appreciated!!

welcome to fishlore!!
as far as putting out bubbles, not much differences....the bars usually have suction cups that you can stick on the sides of your tank ans such and the wands usually lay on the bottom

+1, there is not much difference. If you prefer, airstones or air powered ornaments will provide the same benefit to your tank. None are necessary, however, I don't use them in any of my tanks and it's just a matter of preference.

I believe it is great to have anything to cause agitation to the surface of the water.

Sorry i didnt answer your question. There is no difference.I keep an 8 inch air stone running in my 20 gallon at all times. The surface agitation adds oxygen to your water and the bubbles bring carbon dioxide to the surface. Not sure how good this is for live plants.I have live plants and so far so good.
