I've got an Aqua Culture 20-60 pump. I had a smaller one, but it barely put out any air, so I bought the one I have now.

Even with a gang valve, I can't seem to get the flow to slow down. My fish have a hard time resting in one spot in the middle of the tank. I don't want to turn it off, though, because the tank is cycling and as far as I know, oxygen is good for that.

How can I slow it down? Pinching the hose doesn't work.

try placing 2 check valves in the tubing. have you tried swapping the one you have with a different one to see if that one is broken?

The knobs aren't lefty loosy right tighty for some reason. I figured out the combination, though.

Both check valves work, so I only left one on there. The whistling seems louder, though the hose is on right. But now the bubbles are a nice, slow pace. :D

Now I've got to figure out how to slow the filter...

I shoved a filter sponge up the out take.
Others have made a baffle from empty soda bottles.
If you do a search on the forum, there's several thread about this.
