My brother has a salt water tank. Three of his fish just died and his water was perfect. The guy said is was because the fish ran out of oxygen in the tank. I have a 20 gallon freshwater tank. Do I need something to make sure my fish don't run out of oxygen?

I have 3 Swordtails, 2 White Mollies, and 1 White Gourami. I also have 1 Pictus Catfish. I have 3 live plants. It's a 20 Gallon tank. I got it about 1 month ago.

The best way to keep a tank well oxegenated is surface displacement. This can be acheived by a filter current or airstone, I use both in all my tanks.

I have a filter that has about an inch of waterfall. There is also about 1/3 of my tank with no lid. Is this enough?

The waterfall should be plenty in a 20gal
