Bubbles, Should I Bother?

Ok so here is the deal, i have a 45 gal Tall aquarium, as in the hexagonal corner style, my water temp hovers in the upper 70s, and i have a Bio Wheel filter that does a decent job circulating the water.

As you all know, its the holidays, which means i have a nice fat wallet this time of year, and I am considering getting a bubbler for the tank. I have been told that the water is oxygenated enough, but i was also told that the more oxygen you have going, the more active your fish are likely to be.

Should I go out and get an air pump? And if i should what do i need to get things rolling? Because frankly i would have no clue what i am doing as far as setting the pump up goes.

I would get one..In a hex tank you don't have much surface area for air to enter the tank..A hex has the same footprint as a much smaller rectangle tank but lots more water..Your tank will benefit from a air pump..You'll need to get a airpump rated for your size of aquarium, airline hose, a airstone or other device and a check valve..

Alright, i was looking at some earlier today, i will have to take a look at different brands and such, but i just ordered some new Decor for my tank online, ill get the air pump, and when the decor comes i'll do a water change and put everything in.

make sure that you thoroughly wash your new decorations. You never know what chemicals they pick up in the fishstore over several months.
