Air pump for 145gal tank

The biggest air pumps available down here -at least this weekend- are designed for 30gal tanks.
This might be a stupid question, but I'm confused here. What should I do for the air pump-air stone issues with bigger tanks as my 6footer 145gal? Five air pumps? Does that makes any sense?

I'm in fishless-cycle of a 40gal, will I need two air pumps for that tank?

Thanks for helping me out here.

I think it depends on how many fish, and the type of filtration rather than the size of the tank, there is no formula as far as I know.

Water will only hold so much oxygen, so a large tank may only need a small pump if there are only a few fish, but an overstocked small tank will need a larger pump, does this make any sense?

The water will hold the oxygen untill the fish use it, you only need to replace the used oxygen, I know of people with 55 gallon tanks who just use the splashig of the filter to oxygenate their tank, and have no problems.

Update:

I finally got a Tetra Whisper 100 with dual output for that tank. It's working great and silently. I also found another Tetra model for 150gal tanks (after I purchased the one I have).

Hmm, my two hundred gallon tank runs well with a penguin one, it's usually designed for the 55 gallon, but since I bought the one with the bio wheel, I have two, and it's pretty good at working hard to keep the water clear. I have a few small air pumps that pump air through the air stone diffuser, and usually it's alright to keep the fishes swimmingly.

Also, aquarium salt, the small freshwater one, it's really good at helping my fishes breath easily.

I have some Cabomba Caroliniana, and thats actually a cabomba, in an easier term, and it usually grows fast, helping my fishes eat some of it, and I have wisteria, amazon sword, bacopa, java fern, money wort, and other plants they are in all of my tanks, and in my 350 gallon tank, I have 10 of each so then it can populate my tank very fast I also bought some java moss, so then my fishes can eat them.. I have lots of gouramis though

Aquarium air pump is a device that brings air into the aquarium and it may filtrate the water too. There are many types of air pumps like air stones. You just put the air stone into the aquarium and start the device, which is out of the aquarium. An air pump may have the form of an aquarium ornament like treasure chests, shells, divers and many more. Such aerating devices make bubbles and that is how they aerate the water. Choosing the right air pump is not so difficult. You just have to choose it according to the size of your aquarium and to amount of the plants, because they can stop the bubbles and the aquarium is not fully aerated.
It's depend on how many fishes you have in your tank? Generally 3 air pumps are sufficient for your tank.
