I bought an air stone, and just needed to know if i needed to run it a while before putting it in my tank..

I'd just rinse it off. I've never had problems with putting them right in the tank.

You can just set it up to the air pump and put it right into the tank. It might not work fully right away ( the stone might not seem to be creating as much bubbles as you expect at first) but after it soaks for a few days you will see that more bubbles will flow through it.

Yea, you can pretty much just stick the air stone in.
