Do i need to have an air pump running?

I have an air pump running now but i wanted to know if i really need it with a biwheel on the filter and a bunch of plants in the tank? or should i keep it because its helping something that i dont know about?

The air pump isn't really necessary. Mostly it's for esthetics, since many people just like the bubbles!

ok thank you ill probably take it and put it on a different tank.

A lot of fish like the bubbles and I do think it helps some, but yea, it's not totally necessary.
