Two of my cichlids (a taiwan reef and a yellow blaze) and doing a dance kind of thing where they swim slowly in a circle right on the surface of an algea covered rock. I would not think that this is mating behavior because there is a male and female of each species in my tank. Hmmmmm.

do you know t he readings for ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates? rule out the water issues first...africans will interbreed so it could be that or a dominance issue...could you update your aquarium information when you have a chance with the current setup? that might help members offer more advice
