| even tho kribs come from africa, they arent considered african cichlids as far as their agressiveness to being in african setups..similar to the blood red jewels...they can go more with tiger barbs, angels, rams etc....they would be tore up in normal african tanks that most people keep.....
the op is asking about africans like labs, mbuna , malawi etc if the topic of his thread is correct... |

Thanks again! |

| Hard to choose.
My Favorite Malawi Africans Overall: Malawi Hap (not for your tank, most get to big)
-Protomelas sp. "Steveni Taiwan". Its a hap though so gets a bit larger then the rest. Normal and Albino form.
-Copadichromis sp. "Mloto Undu" Mloto Ivory Head
-Copadichromis sp. "Virginalis Gold"
-Placidochromis electra Deep Water Hap
-Fossorochromis rostratus Mbuna (Prob to aggressive for your tank)
-Pseudotropheus polit
-Pseudotropheus saulosi
-Pseudotropheus flavus
-Pseudotropheus sp. "Elongatus Chewere" Peacocks
Aulonocara stuartgranti (Ngara) "Ngara Flame Tail"
Aulonocara jacobfreibergi "Lemon Jake"
Aulonocara sp. "Lwanda"
Aulonocara sp. "Stuartgranti Maleri" "Yellow Regal"
Aulonocara stuartgranti "Blue Neon"
Thats my list of my favorites of each group from Malawi. How large is the tank? How many fish already? |

| My favourite african cichlid is "Placidochromis sp. "Phenochilus Tanzania"", star sapphires.
I had a breeding group and the male was stunning, but then i moved and lost the adults.
They are very peaceful but get too large for most aquariums.
